"No Safe Place" by Patricia Gibney - Book Review @bookouture #NoSafePlace #LottieParkerSeries #BookReview @trisha460 #ReadingIreland23

I learn and loved Patricia Gibney’s first three novels Lottie Parker police procedural series. They have been improbable! I’ve wished to learn the fourth within the sequence for some time now – I am SO completely happy to report that it was pretty much as good as the primary three.

These of you who haven’t but met Lottie ParkerI recapitulate.
Lottie Parker is a Guard Siochana detective inspector who lives and works within the fictional city of Ragmullin within the irish midlands.

Lottie is a type of fantastic “imperfect” protagonists. Greater than 4 years after her dying, she nonetheless mourns her late husband, Adam. Lottie throws herself into her job – typically on the expense of her residence life along with her three teenage kids and toddler grandson whom she loves fiercely. In her mid-40s, Lottie has an addictive persona and he or she tries valiantly to keep away from alcohol and painkillers. She does not eat correctly, is at all times drained and her nerves are on edge. Lottie is from the ‘sandwich era‘ – caught between taking good care of her personal kids AND her mom. Though surrounded by individuals at residence and at work, Lottie feels very lonely.

Lottie Parker’s second-in-command, Mark Boyd stays loyal to Lottie always – although she typically makes it very tough for her. On this outing, it turns into obvious that Boyd cares deeply for Lottie on a private degree. Additionally, on this ebook, Boyd’s youthful sister, Grace, comes to stick with him for a number of weeks.

The fourth ebook finds DI Lottie Parker and her group investigating the homicide of Elizabeth Byrne, a younger lady who repeatedly traveled on the Dublin-Ragmullin prepare.

Alongside her present heavy workload, Lottie can also be coping with the chilly case of one other younger lady who disappeared after her prepare trip almost ten years prior…

As in earlier books on this sequence, through the early chapters of this ebook, I used to be a bit impatient with Lottie Parker’s self-destructive behaviors. Then, coming into the ebook, I noticed that these issues that annoyed me have been the identical issues that made Lottie Parker so particular to me. She is dedicated to her three kids and her grandson, even when they generally check her persistence.

It is a crime novel full of unhappy and tragic household tales. It will be honest to say that in this episode of the sequence, Lottie faces some very traumatic private challenges.

Glorious characterization and compelling storylines are the highlights of this sequence, and this fourth ebook lives as much as its kind. With themes of sibling rivalry, excessive jealousy, and prejudice, this ebook was an enticing learn.

I extremely advocate this novel and sequence to detective novel readers who’re undeterred by harrowing scenes and emotionally draining circumstances. Hopefully it will not be too lengthy earlier than I’ve the chance to learn the fifth novel on this stellar sequence.
