"The Good Ones" by Polly Stewart - Book Review @HarperCollins #TheGoodOnes #NetGalley #BookReview

This novel did not really feel like a thriller once I learn it, it was extra like a detective story with flashbacks that created an virtually “coming of age” vibe.

Lengthy-held secrets and techniques, regrets, dangerous selections and reminiscences permeate the e book. I loved the flashbacks greater than right this moment’s story.

Nicola Bennett was a personality I by no means actually felt a reference to. She was nicely drawn, however there was simply this indefinable lack of one thing about her that left me ambivalent about her destiny. She got here throughout as very “self-involved” and appeared to lack selfless traits. Nicola’s lacking good friend Lauren Ballard was a “imply woman” who skillfully manipulated anybody who got here in touch together with her, so it was solely my very own innate curiosity that spurred me on to learn on to see what had turn out to be of her. .

The Blue Ridge Mountain setting has been portrayed with the creator’s professional information of the world. The writing was neat and the tempo brisk, however I plodded via to the tip…

I am curious concerning the selection of title. Who had been the “good guys”? I’m blocked.

Uncomfortable and sophisticated friendships drive this novel. To this finish, the creator succeeded brilliantly. That being mentioned, I struggled to keep up my engagement with the e book and I admit it wasn’t fairly my “cup of tea”.

This overview was written voluntarily and my score was by no means influenced by the truth that I acquired a free digital copy of this novel from HarperCollins by way of NetGalley.
